Bob Cole headlines ASF Toronto Dinner

Apr 9, 2019
This year’s 32nd annual ASF Toronto Dinner will feature the voice of Hockey Night in Canada, Mr. Bob Cole. After five decades behind the microphone, Cole called his last game on April 6, the regular season finale between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens. Now he’s set to pick up the microphone once again as ASF’s guest speaker.

Born in St. John’s, Cole grew up steeped on hockey and the island’s other preoccupation, fishing. In Toronto he will share stories of both, including the time he met Lee Wulff, one of the earliest advocates of live release angling and salmon conservation. Cole is a gifted speaker. Dinner attendees will leave tales to take home and share with family and friends.

The ASF Toronto Dinner takes place on May 2 with acclaimed writer and broadcaster Stephen Brunt as master of ceremonies.

ASF owes a sincere thank you to the volunteer dinner committee behind this year’s event - Curtis McCone, Rob Cesta, Eamonn Fagan, John Livey, Tim MacDonald, Hon. Michael A. Meighen, Q.C., Gregory Moore, Julia Nugent, Keefer Pitfield, Julie Powers, John M. Thompson, Mark Wellings, Stephen Brunt, and Jonathan J. Flegg.
