It’s a bright spot for local outfitters who are facing a devastating year due to COVID-19.
The provincial government says non-resident angling licences will be available for purchase early next week.
The licences will be for non-residents who have complied with all COVID-19 special measures and exemption orders and who have fulfilled self-isolation requirements as outlined by the Chief Medical Officer of Health.
While travel bans remain in place, the Outfitters Association says operators may benefit from non-residents who are already in the province for work and other purposes.
The Department is encouraging all anglers to keep fishing groups to people who already share close contact, limit angling to areas unlikely to attract large groups, and limit trips to angling stores by using contactless shopping where available.
